It is situated at an elevation of 7,900 feet and can be accessed via the Kearsarge Pass Trailhead in Inyo National Forest. The lake is popular among hikers, backpackers, and fishermen as it offers stunning views of the surrounding snow-capped peaks and crystal clear water. The area is home to a variety of wildlife, including black bears, mountain lions, mule deer, and golden eagles. Camping is permitted at several designated campsites near the lake, but visitors must obtain a Wilderness Permit from the Inyo National Forest before entering.
